At Neurological Physiotherapy Geelong, we deliver the highest quality neurological, concussion and vestibular physiotherapy and exercise physiology services to the Geelong region.

We take pride in our staff having advanced neurological, concussion and vestibular physiotherapy skills and knowledge. Our therapy team has extensive experience in the neurological field and many of our staff hold post-graduate qualifications in neurological therapy. Our concussion and vestibular physiotherapists have undertaken post-graduate training, use advanced equipment and evidence-based treatments.

We have worked with people living with all kinds of neurological and vestibular conditions in Geelong, Melbourne, interstate and overseas. We work closely within each client’s multi-disciplinary team, wherever they are located, to ensure that our clients receive streamlined, collaborative care.

All staff maintain up to date registrations with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, relevant Working with Children and Police Checks, appropriate insurance and exceed the minimum requirements for annual continuing professional development.

Rosie Marsiglio (she/her)

Physiotherapist / Director

Rosie graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) from the University of Melbourne in 2006 and earned a Post-Graduate Diploma in Neurological Rehabilitation (University of Western Australia) in 2016.

  • She developed an early passion for neurological physiotherapy in 2008 and has worked in this rewarding field ever since. Her career to date has spanned three Melbourne tertiary hospitals and four years in the United Kingdom (primary role in a community stroke rehabilitation team in Manchester). To complement her senior clinical roles, Rosie has tutored and lectured in the Physiotherapy school at the University of Melbourne since 2016 and is an educator of the APA Neurological Physiotherapy Level 2 Course.

    Rosie relocated to Geelong in 2018 and has established solid relationships with local providers and support services. She is highly competent managing clients with neurological, concussion or vestibular conditions and is familiar with the best local services and resources in the Barwon area.  She is an advanced trained vestibular physiotherapist.  

    Throughout her career, Rosie has gained particular experience and interest in the areas of running and high-level mobility retraining, aquatic physiotherapy, vestibular assessment and rehabilitation, balance retraining, concussion and spasticity management. She is Bobath trained and applies the principles of motor learning in her individualised and flexible approach.

Zoe Anderson (she/her)

Physiotherapist / Director

Zoe developed an immediate passion for neurological physiotherapy as an undergraduate at LaTrobe University and has recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Neurological Rehabilitation at Australian Catholic University. She is also Chair of the APA Victorian Neurological Special Interest Group.

  • After graduating in 2010 she obtained invaluable neurological skills in a variety of clinical settings at three large tertiary hospitals both in Victoria and interstate, before relocating to Geelong in 2014. Zoe held the senior acute neurological physiotherapy role at Barwon Health for six years before transitioning to the community setting. She has an extensive knowledge of the Geelong region's neurological services and leaders in care. 

    Zoe’s role at the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) enables her to bring first hand professional development, knowledge, skills and research updates to Geelong. Having grown up in Western Victoria, Zoe feels strongly about neurological clients in our region receiving high quality physiotherapy services comparable to the best in metropolitan locations. In addition to her strong interest in Pilates for neurological clients, Zoe has also completed Basic Bobath training, training in concussion, spasticity management, vestibular physiotherapy, stroke rehabilitation and tracheostomy care. She previously shared her knowledge through academic roles at Deakin University and Australian Catholic University, Ballarat.

Catherine Stockton (she/her)

Neurological Physiotherapist

Catherine graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 1999 after which time she has worked almost exclusively in the field of neurological physiotherapy.

  • In 2013 Catherine completed a Masters of Neurological Physiotherapy at Melbourne University and has subsequently earned the title of Neurological Physiotherapist through the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), in recognition of her higher learning and extensive experience in this area.

    After moving to London in 2003, Catherine worked in complex brain injury for many years. Since returning to Australia in 2008 she has worked in rehabilitation in both public and private settings, gaining extensive experience in a variety of neurological conditions including concussion, stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, ataxia syndromes, Guillain-Barre syndrome, vestibular and balance conditions. 

    Catherine is passionate about supporting clients to achieve meaningful outcomes, to maximise independence, quality of life and the ability to participate in the activities that are important to them.

Kerrie Ryan (she/her)

Neurological Physiotherapist

Kerrie graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne in 2006 and completed a Graduate Diploma in Neurological Rehabilitation from the University of Western Australia.

  • Kerrie developed her passion for working with people with a variety of neurological conditions early in her career while in a rehabilitation setting at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne before taking a senior role on the acute stroke unit.

    Working with clients post stroke remains a particular passion for Kerrie, however more recently she also has had extensive experience consulting with patients with a variety of neuromuscular conditions including muscular dystrophy, FSHD, mitochondrial myopathies and Charcot-marie-tooth.

    Kerrie has always strived to build her clinical skills by completing ongoing professional development, with a particular interest in the Bobath concept. Having completed both basic and advanced training courses in this area she has a problem solving approach to the integration of postural control and task performance. She enjoys working with clients to achieve their goals and assist in maximising their independence and quality of life.

Brendan Cutts (he/him)

Neurological Physiotherapist

Brendan graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2010 and has gone on to treat people with dizziness and neurological conditions in Emergency Departments, Neurology and Neurosurgery wards and outpatient services in both metropolitan and regional health services. 

  • He completed a Master of Clinical Rehabilitation (Neurological Physiotherapy) from Flinders University in 2018 and was subsequently awarded the title of Neurological Physiotherapist by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA).

    Brendan has completed extensive vestibular physiotherapy training, including the Basic and Advanced competency-based courses. He has been working in this field since 2014. While working in Ballarat, Brendan underwent credentialing to assess people with dizziness referred to Specialist Physicians (eg ENT or Neurologists), cutting their waiting times by over a year and is currently implementing a similar service with Barwon Health. He enjoys staying at the forefront of research and is Principal Investigator in two research projects currently running in the Barwon region. He also teaches in the Physiotherapy School at Australian Catholic University.

Amy Thomson (she/her) 

Neurological Physiotherapist

Amy graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2010.  After three years working across a variety of clinical areas in a major metropolitan hospital, she followed her passion for neurological physiotherapy into private practice where she has worked for the past 8 years with clients with a wide variety of neurological conditions.

  • She completed her Basic Bobath Course in 2014 and has since completed two advanced courses, integrating this approach flexibly into her treatment.

    Amy has significant experience in working with people with vestibular conditions and concussion and has undertaken extensive professional development in this space. She is an advanced trained vestibular physiotherapist.  Amy also has a particular clinical interest in working with people with Parkinson's Disease and is part of the Parkinson's Community of Practice, a team of physiotherapists passionate about optimising care of people with Parkinson's Disease.

    She loves working collaboratively with her clients and their families to develop individualised treatment plans which support them to get the most out of life, now and in the future.

Madelaine Tate (she/her)

Neurological Physiotherapist

Maddy graduated from La Trobe University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy Practice and developed a strong passion for the neurological field very early on.

  • She holds a Masters in Neurological Physiotherapy from Flinders University (2023) and is a competency-trained vestibular physiotherapist.

    Maddy has worked across two large metropolitan Melbourne public and private hospitals, as well locally here at Barwon Health.  She has gained significant experience working with the neurological population across the continuum.

    Maddy has a particular interest working with clients post stroke to achieve their goals and maximise independence in their home environment.  She completed a research project in this field as part of her Masters of Clinical Rehabilitation (Neurological Physiotherapy) degree through Flinders University. 

    Maddy exudes an incredible energy and enjoys working with a variety of conditions and presentations including multiple sclerosis, Guillain Barre syndrome, cerebellar disorders, spasticity management and high-level balance retraining.

Namrata Limbad (she/her)

Physiotherapist

Namrata graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2015 and completed a Master of Health and Human Services in 2019 from Deakin University.

  • Namrata developed an interest in neurological physiotherapy during her studies and has gained extensive experience working with a variety of neurological clients and conditions, across the acute, rehabilitation and outpatient settings.

    Since moving to Australia, she has spent over four years working in the Aged Care sector, reflecting her passion for supporting this population. Alongside her role at NPG, Namrata holds a Telehealth role, using Virtual Reality treatment to work with clients of all ages and conditions. She has a warm and engaging personality, making everyone she meets feel instantly at ease.

    Namrata is particularly interested in supporting people following a stroke or those with Parkinson’s disease, Guillain-Barre syndrome and multiple sclerosis.

Louis Cato (he/him)

Physiotherapist

Louis graduated from Swinburne University of Technology in 2021 with a Master of Physiotherapy.  He gained some broad experience before following a passion to work with neurological clients, arriving at NPG in July 2023.

  • Louis had prior roles in Geelong managing people with a wide range of conditions in community-based disability work and musculoskeletal private practice.  He combines these experiences with his knowledge in the neuro space to holistically support clients to achieve their goals.  His NPG clients love his warm, humble manner, and his humour and competitiveness during group classes bring out the best in everyone attending.

Lisa Ross (she/her)

Physiotherapist

Lisa graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne in 2006 and completed a Graduate Diploma in Public Health in 2021 with a focus on chronic disease management at Flinders University. Lisa joined our team whilst taking an intermission from her Doctor of Medicine course at Deakin University. 

  • Lisa’s passion for working with people with various neurological conditions was ignited in her early career working on the acute neurological ward at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She has maintained an interest in neurological physiotherapy throughout her career whilst working in inpatient rehabilitation settings in London before taking a senior physiotherapist role in aged care rehabilitation at St. Vincent’s Hospital and subsequently in Rehabilitation at the Wimmera Base Hospital in Horsham. During this time Lisa has established a strong skill set in working with patients with Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis as well as post-stroke.

    Lisa has continued to build on her clinical skills throughout the past 18 years as a clinician and has completed ongoing professional development with a particular interest in falls prevention, the Bobath concept and chronic disease management. She enjoys working with clients to achieve their goals and assist in maximising their independence and quality of life.

Brad Anderson (he/him)

Exercise Physiologist

Brad completed a Masters of Exercise Physiology in 2022 and also holds a Bachelor of Exercise Science. He has seven years’ experience in athlete development both in Australia and overseas and brings a unique skill set to the team at NPG.

  • His passion for helping people has driven him to transition to neurological based therapy where he wants to positively impact people's lives. He has advanced knowledge and skills in monitoring and adjusting a wide range of exercises to help the client get the most out of their program. His warm and motivating nature allows him to build great rapport with clients, making sessions enjoyable, challenging and effective.

Tash Bastone (they/them)

Physiotherapist

Tash graduated from Monash University in 2024 with a Doctor of Physiotherapy. They have had a range of experiences across the acute, rehabilitation, and community settings in both Melbourne and Geelong health services. Through this, Tash has developed a passion for the neurological field.  

  • They are excited to continue to build their clinical skills and work alongside clients, families and wider support networks to support clients in achieving meaningful goals in the community.  

    Tash also has a special interest in supporting the health needs of the LGBTQIA+ community and providing an environment for these clients to seek holistic and affirming care.   

    With a warm and playful personality, Tash is able to quickly build a connection with their clients and strives to empower them both within and beyond sessions.

Carly Veldhuis (she/her)

Physiotherapy Assistant

Carly has both a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation. Carly developed an early passion for rehabilitating sports injuries and then spent time overseas working with clients in their home environment with a greater focus on support with daily activities. 

  • Since returning home from abroad, Carly has worked as an Allied Health Assistant at the Epworth and Barwon Health.  She has gained extensive experience across a number of clinical areas, including orthopaedic, neurology and geriatric medicine.  

    Carly has also worked with the Stroke Association of Victoria in a post stroke liaison role to assist younger stroke survivors with their return to work.  She really enjoys assisting neurological clients to achieve their rehabilitation goals within the home or gym setting.  

Mark Bishop (he/him)

Physiotherapy Assistant

Mark has gained over 11 years experience working as a Therapy assistant at both Epworth hospital in Richmond and overseas, after completing a certificate 3 and 4 as an Allied Health Assistant in 2012.

  • Over this time he has developed a particular passion for working in neurological and Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation. He really enjoys working with clients in their home environment to maximise their independence and assist them to achieve their community based goals. Mark's friendly and motivating personality is adored by both his clients and his colleagues, making him a highly valued member of our team.

    Mark has also recently completed a Studio Pilates Matwork Course and has started teaching in his spare time.

Minelli Bernard (she/her) 

Exercise Physiologist

Having completed an Advanced Diploma in Physiotherapy in Sri Lanka, Minelli arrived in Australia five years ago and furthered her studies in the Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology program at the University of Queensland.

  • Minelli developed a passion for neurological rehab during her studies and post-grad employment as an Exercise Physiologist in Queensland, where she worked with a varied neurological caseload in both clinic and community-based settings. 

    Her vision is to gain more experience, learning and using new techniques and specialised equipment where relevant to make exercise prescription innovative and goal-oriented.  

Ella Firth (she/her)

Practice Manager/
Physiotherapy Assistant

Ella recently completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science with Deakin University. Her studies were combined with work as a group trainer, bringing an excellent exercise prescription knowledge to her Therapy Assistant role.

  • While studying and working, Ella gained valuable experience across a wide range of settings and enjoys working with clients of varying histories and goals. Specifically, Ella has a strong interest in neurological conditions and is looking to expand her knowledge and develop a career in the area. Ella is passionate about the role of exercise therapy in improving health and functional wellbeing, and is excited about using her knowledge and dedication to provide excellent client care at NPG. 

    Ella is thrilled to be playing a role in supporting neurological clients to reach their individual goals and strives to have a positive impact on the lives of those that she works with. 

Amanda Edwards (she/her)

Administration Assistant

Boy are we thrilled to have Amanda join our team, and streamline our administrative policies and procedures so that the rest of us can focus on what we do best - neurological physiotherapy!

  • After 21 years working at Melbourne University, Amanda gained valuable experience in Reception/Administration roles and enjoyed the different challenges they gave her.  In 2017 Amanda relocated to Geelong and completed her Diploma of Business Administration.  

    Amanda is passionate about her role at NPG and enjoys being able to provide comprehensive administrative support to Neurological Physiotherapy Geelong.

Emily Balmer (she/her)

Physiotherapy Assistant/ Administration Assistant

Emily has joined NPG in a combined role as a therapy assistant and admin assistant. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Deakin University.

  • During her course, Emily has gained experience in applying her knowledge and skills in exercise and sport science to improve the health and performance of individuals. While studying, Emily developed a strong interest in the role of exercise and movement in treating different injuries, illnesses and disabilities. After graduating, Emily hopes to pursue a career in Physiotherapy. Emily is very passionate about the importance of exercise in health and wellbeing and is thrilled to use her skills and knowledge in her role at NPG.
