Optimise Group Exercise at NPG

We have a fantastic range of exercise classes with an option suitable for most levels of ability. Exercising as part of a group is fun, safe, social and cost-effective. All groups are specifically designed to optimise physical function for people with neurological conditions. Since moving into our own premises, we have expanded our group offering which is currently as follows:

All groups are lead by one of our experienced neurological physiotherapists. Feedback on the groups has been amazing, with the physical and social benefits of attending being described as “I’m feeling so much better”, “I’m standing straighter and walking faster” and “I work so much harder here than I do at home!”

Optimise Independence

A dedicated time for clients to access our specialised equipment and clinic space, while completing their individualised exercise program. This will be supervised by our exercise physiologist, giving feedback and guidance as required.

Optimise Strength & Conditioning

Exercise Physiologist-lead class focused on general strength work to manage neurological conditions and comorbidities. The format will rotate periodically with variations such as ballistic training, pure strength training, balance & proprioceptive training.

Optimise Parkinson's

A high intensity class that implements all the exercise principles for people with Parkinson’s Disease such as movement amplitude and speed.

Optimise Neuro Pilates

Tailored mat (or plinth) based Pilates class that focuses on whole body strength and flexibility, core strength, breathing, balance and alignment for people with neurological conditions.

Optimise Strength & Mobility

A lower intensity class involving a mix of seated and standing strength and balance exercises. Intensity and difficulty will be tailored according to the group participants ability and goals.

Optimise Movement & Balance

For anyone wanting to improve their movement or balance, this is a dynamic class incorporating a variety of balance, fitness and strength exercises.

Optimise Multiple Sclerosis

An evidence based exercise program, with a strong education focus, developed specifically for people living with MS. This group gives participants the knowledge and skills to effectively manage their fatigue, health and overall wellbeing through the use of interval-based training.
