Neuro Exercise Physiology (EP) explained

Chances are many of you have never heard of an Exercise Physiologist (EP), and if you have, you might know what we actually do.

In short, we not only look at treating your primary neurological condition, such as Parkinson's disease or stroke, but also look to manage your overall health and wellbeing through movement and physical activity.  So, you may be coming in to see us for the management of your Multiple Sclerosis (MS), but you also have diabetes and high blood pressure.  As EPs, we would not only be addressing your MS through a targeted strengthening and aerobic program, but would also be looking into the lifestyle factors that may be contributing to your diabetes and high blood pressure.  In this way, we will support you to make positive changes to manage these conditions and decrease the chance of further health complications in the future.

Physical activity is a powerful tool in the management of both physical and mental health. Our EP service is aimed at supporting you to access physical activity and reap these benefits.  It's also heaps of fun!
